For Halloween each year my goal is to have a well thought out, nicely executed costume. If I have more than one event to attend over the course of the season I like to prepare more than one costume. Both Rach and myself are totally into dressing up. This year I don't feel like I pulled it off. I just haven't been feeling very creative.
A couple weeks ago I saw The Misfits and I picked up a Crimson Ghost mask. I've always wanted to be this character for halloween but have never managed to put it together. I ordered a red robe/cloak but it hasn't arrived yet. I already have the gloves. Truth be told this isn't a very complicated costume so I don't really feel like I accomplished much.
My other costume idea is to dress as The Continental. I have everything I need for it except a really good handkerchief to go around my neck but any color or pattern would work in a pinch so I'm not too worried about it. Again though, this costume wasn't too tough to "make". I ordered a smoking jacket and I already own a white dress shirt and black pants.
Hopefully the red cloak arrives tomorrow so I can be the crimson ghost on saturday. The party will be mixed company and a recognizable character that won't require any explanation will make the night more enjoyable for me. Then I can be the continental on the fifth in my own place with a crowd that is more likely to get it.
